There are situations where a media item’s ownership needs to change. For example, when an employee leaves the organization, their content should be reassigned to another user. You can also change the owner if a user uploaded content on behalf of someone else and the ownership should now reflect the correct person.
If a user who owns media items is deleted, those items automatically move to the system account. They are not removed or left without an owner.
Options for changing ownership
In the Admin portal, there are two ways to change the media item's owner:
Change owner for a single media item
1. Open the media item’s details page.
2. Locate the Owner field below the media player.
3. Select Change.
4. Enter the new owner’s name in the field that appears.
5. Select Submit to save the ownership change.
Change the owner for some or all items belonging to a user
1. In the left sidebar menu, select Tools > Change Owner.
2. Enter the current owner’s name and select Load items.
3. Select the media items to transfer ownership for.
4. Enter the new owner’s name.
5. Select Transfer ownership to apply the ownership change and select Confirm.
