3. Admin Portal RMP
The Admin Portal RMP is your control center for setting up and managing the Ravnur Player. It provides a “preview” version to check the features added via the Admin Portal such as the CC menu or cue points placement.
Learn what you can upload on this page.
Setup Features are available via the Video page > “Video editors”:
-
Closed Captions: Add subtitles to make your content accessible to a broader audience.
-
Cue Points: Insert timestamps to divide your video into sections, making it easier to navigate.
These abilities are also available for the “My Account” editor option of the Media Studio. Access it from My Account > Editing options > Manage captions / Add cue points.
You can also preview your stream using the Control room player to check how the viewer can interact with your stream.
Here is a relation diagram showing that the Admin Portal Player allows one to check the behavior of other apps.
Not all of the features available in RMP affect the Player itself - for example, metadata or attachments are not displayed in the Player tab. Such features affect the portal experience instead.
4. Portal
Your media can be published on Media Studio and a Portal. After previewing the Player in the Admin Portal, you have an idea of what to expect here: basic features will be available together with additional cue points and CC menus.
-
Cue Points: Accessible in the corresponding menu, allowing timeline navigation by pressing on the timestamp.
You can navigate the timeline of the player by pressing on the timestamp.
-
The “Search captions” button will appear for the Media Studio:
For the Portal, this button is replaced with an extended search bar on the page therefore it’s missing in the Player:
5. Embedded
Paste the player wherever you like so the viewers immediately watch your media. Video, audio, or Live streams can be accessible to viewers on any webpage you want.
There are several things you can configure in addition to CC or Cue Points specifically for your embedded player: What player parameters can I manage?
Learn more about configuring the embedding.
6. External public page
Sometimes, you might want to share your media without requiring viewers to go through authentication or access your main portal. For these situations, you can use the external public page feature.
-
Location:
In the Admin Portal, open a Video page and enable the "External Public Page" option. This will generate an external link that you can share.
As a result, the generated link will direct to a page featuring just the player, with all standard functionalities accessible.
Audio Player
Upload audio files (learn what you can upload on this page) and get to listen to those with the Audio Player:
You get the same basic features as for the video except for the ability to add CC or Cue Points. Adjust the playback rate from 0.5 to 5x speed.
You can publish your audio in the Portals, embed it, or generate an external page for the audio.
Upload the thumbnail for your audio via the Admin Portal or My Account to replace the default gray background. Make playlists for your audio from the Admin Portal or via My Account.
