Cue points allow you to mark specific moments in your video, making it easier to navigate and manage content. They can be used as chapter markers.
The Ravnur Media Portal provides two methods for adding cue points: uploading cue points and adding them manually.
Upload Cue Points
Make sure your cue points are in WebVTT format.
1. Navigate to the Video editors of the selected video:
2. Select the Cue points editor > Add Cue Points:
3. Select “Upload Cue Points” in a pop-up and choose a language.
4. Open your VTT file.
Result: All cue points from the file will be populated in the editor. You can manage and publish the segments.
The viewer will see the chapters on the player button as and as the points on the timeline.
Add Cue Points Manually
1. Select the Cue points editor > Add Cue Points
2. Select the language for the cue points.
3. Play the video to the point you wish to save or adjust the time value manually.
4. Type a description for the new cue point segment.
5. Repeat the previous step until you have added all the necessary segments for the video.
6. Save to apply the created points to the Video.
Generate AI cue points
Improve navigation and accessibility using AI with no effort.
1. Select the Cue points editor > Generate AI Cue Points
2. Wait on this page until the process is complete. The AI will analyze the Closed Captions and generate Cue Points in English. The thumbnails will be added for each Point as well.
3. Optionally, review the Cue Points to ensure they align with key moments in your video and modify where necessary.
4. Save to apply the created points to the Video.
Manage Cue Points
There are several modification options available for cue points:
- Change the Start time of an existing cue point segment.
- Update the Text of a cue point segment.
- Discard changes made after the last “Save”.
- Remove an existing cue point from the list.
- Publish/Unpublish the Cue Points. You can edit them in any state.
- Search for keywords in the descriptions.
- Select the language for the descriptions from the menu to manage cue points in other languages. As a result, the video player will display the Language selection for the Cue Points.
When you trim a video, existing cue points are automatically adjusted to match the new video timing. However, reverting to an earlier version of a trimmed video gives you the option to keep or delete current cue points. Learn more.
