If a video is already in use, for example, if it has been added to a playlist, then changing the privacy setting may have consequences.
Changing a public video to restricted – will trigger a warning below:
It will be visible only to you and the individuals, groups, or roles in the list. You may edit the allowed users but you will not be able to remove the access from yourself.
For the Public Portal, Restricted access would remove the video for all users. They will have the following message once opening the URL link after privacy is updated:The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
Changing a restricted video to public – the video will now be visible to all users in the portal.
Usage Example
A company creates a promotional video to launch a new product. Initially, the video is restricted to the marketing director for review and approval. Once approved, the company decides to make the video public. The video will now be visible to all users in the portal.
