This guide walks you through the process of connecting Azure Media Services Explorer (AMSE) to your RMS account, allowing you to access and manage your media assets via the convenient UI tool tailored specifically for Ravnur products.
Before starting
Install the Azure Media Services Explorer for RMS
Because Ravnur Media Services is built using the Azure Media Services v3 API, it works natively with the Azure Media Services Explorer. Ravnur has modified the AMSE to connect to your RMS account. After the retirement of Azure Media Services, Ravnur will maintain this tool for managing your RMS account.
Get your RMS account credentials
The AMSE for RMS requires your RMS account credentials to connect. You can access the API credentials by clicking the API Access within the RMS Console interface. This will pop up a window with all the necessary credentials, including:
- RMS Subscription ID;
- RMS Resource Group Name;
- RMS Account Name;
- RMS API Endpoint;
- RMS API Key.
Be sure to copy these credentials for future use when connecting to the AMSE.
Connect to your RMS account with the AMSE for RMS
-
Select Pick-up Ravnur account…
-
Select the appropriate environment that corresponds to the Azure environment where RMS is deployed.
-
Paste the credentials you previously copied into the pop-up and press Save.
5. Click on Connect in the AMSE main menu and authenticate using your Microsoft Entra account credentials.
All users connecting to the same RMS account in AMSE have access to the same list of saved transforms and the same job history. The data is tied to the RMS account, not to individual users. Thus, saved records in the account are available to anyone who connects to it.
You've successfully connected Azure Media Services Explorer to your RMS account, unlocking easy management of your media assets. By following these simple steps, you can now explore the features of AMSE: develop with Media Services or test Media Services without writing any code.
