The configurations listed below assume that the data stream has already been configured.
1. On the Google Analytics dashboard navigate to Settings > Admin > Data Display > Custom Definitions
2. Create 3 custom dimensions (one for a custom event variable from Google Tag Manager)
a. Event Model - eventModel
b. Event Title - eventTitle
c. Event Source - eventSource
d. Event Type - eventType
3. Navigate to Settings > Admin > Display data > Audiences and create new Custom Audience
4. Add these conditions to the custom audience: Event name "exactly matches" video_start
AND Event Type "exactly matches" live
5. Navigate to Reports > Library > Create new report > Create new detailed report > Blank
6. In the right sidebar add a new Dimension for Report Data, and pick Event Title which was created earlier
7. Add new filer: Audience name "exactly matches" Live event viewers
8. Add new Metric: Total Users
9. Add a new card and pick the same dimension, metric, and filter. We will use this card later
You can add other metrics if needed
10. Save the current report “Live event viewers by Event Title”
11. Repeat the same process and create the new report by Event Source if needed
12. Navigate to Reports > Library > Create collection > Blank
13. Name it “Live streams” and add all live stream-related detailed reports there
14. Save the collection and publish
15. You will now see that collection on the reports page on the right sidebar
We can filter out data in all default reports by using a created custom audience. Just click on Add comparison and select Audience name "exactly matches" Live stream viewers
